Celebrating Our 2022 Season with Free Shipping!

Spring and summer are always the busiest seasons for farmers, lavender farmers included! While we loved the often frantic pace of weeding, pruning, and harvesting on top of weekly appearances at the Saugerties Farmer's Market, the arrival of fall's cooler weather allows us to slow down...but just a bit.

We had an amazing harvest this year, despite the challenging late winter weather. With an early warm up followed by days of fierce, cold winds then an ice storm, we started the season with major damage to the field and thinking we'd lost more than half of our plants. It was gut wrenching, and many tears were shed over the destruction. With a lot of hard work and determination we pulled the field back together, pruned all the dead portions off our plants, and waited.  By late May we realized that most plants were going to pull through and that we would have a successful bloom season after all!

We have now completed our pre-winter pruning and weeding, and the plants are slowly heading towards dormancy which is how they manage to survive in cold climates.  Hopefully they are awakened from their winter nap more gently next spring...!

Since closing the field last month, we've been busy re-stocking our products in preparation for the up-coming holiday gift giving season, and steam distilling a portion of this year's harvest to produce Lavender Essential Oil and Hydrosol. We have plans to attend at least one farm market between now and the end of the year, and we'll announce details on when and where soon. Stay tuned!

While there is much to be thankful for after our bumpy start, we are especially grateful to all who have supported us through the launch of our on-line store and first year of product sales. To celebrate our 2022 season and thank you for following our story as our small lavender farm took shape, we are offering free standard shipping on all orders of $50.00 or more placed by 11/30/22 - no code needed!  Head on over to our product page and pamper yourself with some of our aromatic bath and body care products as the days shorten and the colder weather moves in.

Happy Fall!
